Beginner Parkour Adult Class (ages 12+)
Join us for parkour classes led by Chris of Our Playful Nature! This class will teach you the fundamental skills and techniques of parkour and improve your strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. Classes will emphasize safe progression, creativity, problem solving, and play.
Parkour is about being creative with the environment around you, and exploring the ways in which you can move in that environment. It is also about bringing play and creativity back into the lives of people who have all but forgotten their playful nature. In French, parkour is referred to as "l'art du déplacement", which means "the art of movement." Our environment is the canvas, our body the brush, and our mind the painter.
Chris Moran, founder of Our Playful Nature, has been a personal trainer for over 7 years and has been training clients in an Olympic Weightlifting facility at Rutgers University for the last 4 years. Chris grew up playing every sport under the sun, climbing trees, exploring the woods, and roughhousing with friends which fostered a lifelong passion for movement and nature. Today Chris brings that passion to life while teaching movement in the natural environment. Chris’s extensive background in exercise science, weightlifting, and parkour along with his ongoing study of human movement and play allows him to bring a unique and exciting approach to his students. Chris co-founded the Rutgers Parkour Club in 2010. He is an NSCA Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist, USAW Level 1 Sports Performance coach, USA Parkour Level 2 Coach, and Functional Movement Screen certified.
