"My love of nature got me hooked on photography. I feel an intense connection with her trees, mountains, waters, and creatures. For many years, I carried a pocket-sized camera with me whenever I ventured out. I especially enjoyed, and still enjoy, making photos on long hikes in the mountains or by the ocean. Transforming those magical experiences and deeply personal feelings into lasting images that I could hold in my hands or look at on my wall has always been powerful and totally absorbing for me.
I love all aspects of photography, and find the blend of artistic and technical skills intriguing. While most of my early work focused on nature, I now enjoy a wider range of photography, including abstracts, cityscapes, and portraits, in addition to landscapes and seascapes.
In 2015, my lifelong love of photography also became my career. I am very happy to be a full-time photographer and committed teacher of photography. I especially enjoy teaching small groups and one-on-one.
For most of the past 35 years, I have been very fortunate to live in a beautiful part of New Jersey: Princeton and neighboring Hopewell. Most of the images presented in Illuminations: Celebrating Light were made in 2015 and 2016 at home in Princeton, as well as in Maine, Arizona, California, Oregon, Washington and France."
